Double

(Rachel here, forgot the last e-mail to past in here...)

There's a cold virus floating around the band sister's house and I caught it. I am using zicam and echinacia, we'll see if it goes away. Today is P-day and I've been asleep all day. It's been nice to be sick at home instead of on the band wagon.

Our skit rehearsal for the bible school is at 7 in the morning, which is totally not fun. We're rehearsing with the director of the stage missionaries which is kinda cool. She changes and corrects me the least, which makes me feel good. She also complimented my "stage voice".

It has been surprisingly cold in Nauvoo for the past few days. On monday we didn't go on the band wagon because it was raining. Yesterday it was overcast and about 72 degrees. I cherish every day with that kind of weather.

Nick, what are you doing for your graduation party? Are you excited to go to college? Has anyone gotten a job for the summer yet? Dad included?

What dates are you going to be here again? I'm going to plan out an itinerary for you guys so you don't end up doing something unneccessary.

(And this week's e-mail...)

I love P-day. I took a 5 hour nap today. My companion gets a bit tired of my not wanting to do anything but sleep on P-day, but it gets me through til Sunday. Last Sunday I was moved to the Lyon Drug, which was awesome, but oddly, sister Wilde stayed behind at the tin shop. I didn't get to give many tours because only 3 groups came in in 4 hours. But it was so neat to be there. Serving in the sites in Nauvoo is fabulous.

I'm still hacking but I feel better. E. B. got my cold and ended up missing a whole day with us. It's a nasty little virus. No one seems to be 100% in the band sister's house, but I think we're all getting better.

bug bite count= 5 my elbow is enormous. I don't know what bit me there but it itches like crazy. Thank goodness for mometasone.

The ballroom dance company from BYU is here. Russell Walker is in the troupe. I never knew him personally, he was friends with Emily Bowen and Natalie Hartley, but after the show I went up and talked to him. He said he remembered my face at least from high school. I got a really silly picture with him. I'm in my pioneer dress and he's wearing a purple spandex shirt and latin pants.

I finally filled up my memory card on my camera and started on the new card. The card you sent me, Dad, holds over a thousand pictures, so hopefully it will last me until I return. Random things happen every day that need to be documented, like one of the senior single sisters snapping one of the stage missionary's suspenders or our drummer eating a block of cheese during a performance. I had a thought that perhaps we can send Nick on his mission with my digital camera, and I can get myself a new one. My camera is still awesome, but it's old enough that if it's destroyed, it won't be a big deal. While Sister Wilde was printing pictures today, I was playing with the cameras at walmart and found a nice one. Speaking of pictures, I'm sending you a photo of me with the mission president and temple president and their wives. The opportunity for a photo was too good that afternoon.

I'm also sending you a map with all the sites you need to visit circled and a good schedule to follow while you're here. The show times I picked for you are the ones where my friends have big roles in the plays.

I don't know what else to say , the time is drawing near that our companions will be changed, and that makes me sad and nervous. There is one girl in the house I don't especially get along with and I'm afraid that because of that, she'll be my companion.

I feel like I'm losing a lot of the stuff I learned at school this past year. I was in the Lyon Drug and I was looking at the bottle of Digitalis and could not for the life of me remember the mechanism of action of Digoxin. Can you help me out mom? I haven't received much scholarship money this year, which makes me sad. Darn my 3.83 GPA. That means I'll need a lot of hours at medicap to cover myself through the next 2 years. Have you heard anything about the tech ratio mom?
